Continuing Medical Education - Hot Topics Course

AAP Hot Topics CME Course

Pathways, in conjunction with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), is proud to announce the availability of a new online continuing medical education (CME) course: Recognizing Early Motor Delays at the 2-month Pediatric Well Visit. The program, available at http://www.pedialink.org.

The course provides 0.5 AAP, NAPNAP, and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). The curriculum uses side-by-side video comparisons of infant observation to help health care professionals, students, and caregivers recognize the signs of an early motor delay in children as early as 2 months of age and determine the most appropriate intervention if an early motor delay is observed. Early detection and early intervention are key to ensuring the best for all children’s physical development.

Building on the pioneering film Early Infant Assessment Redefined, Pathways is developing a series of videos comparing a baby developing typically and a baby developing atypically at two, four, six, nine and twelve months of age. This first-of-its-kind series will be used to educate pediatricians, family practitioners, other physicians, nurses, therapists and parents on the typical developmental milestones to look for, and on the characteristics that indicate early intervention may be needed.
